In this vein, Joseph Limare, managing director of Beach Volleyball event, was very proud to confirm that a four-year-old agreement, including 2025, was in place to present this international tournament at Jean-Drapeau Park.

“From our first discussions with Volleyball World, a little over a year ago, we positioned ourselves in the calendar,” said Limare in an interview with The newspaperTuesday. We wanted a date allowing us to stay in the calendar, regardless of the Olympic Games. By remaining thus in August, we could even be the first test of the pro Tour after the Los Angeles Games, in 2028. ”

Ensure sustainability

If the event had not been presented last year, it was not necessarily due to the Paris Olympic Games, because there were also certain financial issues. For 2025, we have established new bases by entrusting the promotion to the Tonic group, which already organizes, in particular, the Montreal marathon and the Cycling Grands Prix of Quebec and Montreal.

“We want to think, with Jean-Drapeau Park, to imagine how we could enlarge in order to have an event site making it possible to ensure even more sustainability,” said Mr. Limare, very optimistic about the long-term success.
