The first half of the summer was more than favorable to the Quebec tourism sector. The tourist crowds are such that established traffic records could be beaten this year, according to Destination Québec Cité.
The tourism organization is said very satisfied with the summer so far
. During the months of June and July, Quebec hotels experienced an occupancy rate of 81%, a slight increase compared to last year.
We have a record year, which is quite satisfactory. The year 2024 was a record year and then we exceeded last year’s records
specifies Véronique Boulanger, advisor to the public relations of the organization.
Tourists from the south of the border, however, are fewer, notes destination Quebec Cited. This drop is filled by an increasing presence of Canadians.
With the situation in the United States, I might not say [qu’on avait] Fear, but we had doubts. So from January, we started redirecting our marketing actions towards the rest of Canada
mentions Ms. Boulanger.

We have seen that there was a decrease between 8 and 10% of the United States arrivals
adds the public relations advisor, a decrease that the hotel sector also observes.
July will have been particularly busy. During the Quebec Summer Festival, hotels had an occupancy rate of 87%. The two weeks of the construction vacation will have made it possible to fill their reservations grid with 86 %, depending on Destination Quebec Cité.
More than 1.1 billion spent
The next few weeks are also likely to be busy, predicts the organization. The time slots are far from complete, however.
In the reservations calendar, in fact, there is still space, so we invite people to come and book
explains Véronique Boulanger.
In total, more than $ 1.1 billion should be spent by visitors to the region between June and September 2025
explains Destination Québec Cité.
According to Véronique Boulanger, public relations advisor at Destination Québec Cité, tourist traffic is up this summer in Quebec.

August should be occupied, but less than last year. In 2024, the month had been exceptional
With an occupancy rate of 88% in hotel establishments. The month of September, it should be comparable to that of the previous year.
We have the cruise lines who will arrive at the end of mid-August who will be there too in September. So, we really expect it to be similar to last year
indicates Ms. Boulanger.
