A telecom cable flight network dismantled in Loire-Atlantique, three people arrested for more than € 700,000 in prejudice

Two individuals were arrested Tuesday and Wednesday when they followed to steal almost two tonnes of cables, “the equivalent of two kilometers of network”, in Loire-Atlantique, said the gendarmerie in a press release.

The suspects, suspected of 21 flights in total, were referred to the Nantes court on Wednesday for the case of their police custody. One was placed in pre -trial detention and two judicial subsidence.

A “structured operating mode”

The survey opened by the intervention group on the series phenomena (GIPS) of the company of Nantes in coordination with the research brigade (BR) Nantes had “quickly oriented towards a team of criminals of particularly organized Romanian nationality” operated according to a “structured operating mode”, according to the gendarmerie.

The thieves presumed that they used “at least two vehicles” during each night journey: “a scout opener and a carrier responsible for transporting the stolen and cut cables in the section”, details the press release.
