A terrible road accident is more than 50 dead

A very violent road accident Moveds Afghanistan. More than 50 people were killed on Tuesday in a bus accident in the province of Herat, during a collision between a truck, a motorcycle and a vehicle carrying migrants back from Iran.

“Due to excessive speed and negligence, (the bus) has left the main road and collided violently with a truck in the province of Hérat,” the police said.

A fire following the shock

The bus was carrying Afghans recently returned from Iran and went to the capital Kabul, said spokesperson for the provincial governor, Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, as part of a massive wave of expulsions in recent months. “All the passengers were migrants who had climbed the vehicle in Islam Qala,” he said, referring to a border post with Iran.

The bus initially struck the motorcycle, then the truck that transported fuel, causing fire, said the Guzara district police outside the city of Herat where the accident occurred. Three bus passengers survived. The majority of the victims were on the bus, two people traveling in the truck were killed, as well as the two passengers of the motorcycle.

Road accidents are frequent in Afghanistan, partly because of the poor condition of the roads after decades of conflict, the dangerous driving of motorists and the lack of regulation. In December, two bus accidents involving a tanker truck and a truck on a highway crossing the center of the country had left at least 52 dead.
