Accident involving a cyclist: the coast of the acquiduct closed to traffic
A cyclist was injured in the early evening following an accident that occurred around 6 p.m. on the Acqueduc coast, St-Sauveur district, in Quebec. The victim, found unconscious, was transported urgently to a hospital center.
At 7:40 p.m., the acqueduct coast remains closed to traffic between Chemin Sainte-Foy and rue Arago. The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) is still on site to assess the situation.
An investigation could be triggered if the severity of the victim’s injuries and the situation justifies it. The police await the medical results to rule on the rest of the procedures.
UPDATE : The SPVQ indicates that injuries would not put their life in danger. However, an accident investigation is open. “Investigators as well as the technicians of the judicial identification unit (UIJ) are on the scene in order to analyze the causes and circumstances of the accident,” said the SPVQ.
The duration of the closure has not yet been determined.
