The passengers, who were all recorded, were waiting to get on the plane when a message in the Montreal-Trudeau airport speakers told them that their flight would be canceled due to a lack of staff.
The on -board agents decided not to work due to the uncertainty surrounding the labor conflict.

The problem, according to the union, concerns on -board agents who work in a flight arriving at their destination during the night.
If a strike is triggered at midnight on Saturday, on -board agents who would then be at their destination could not come home. The only way to do so would be to have to work for Air Canada, but without being paid.
To avoid this kind of situation, on -board agents therefore decided to use sick leave days.
