Air Canada strike: grumbling and confusion at the airport

Hundreds of travelers with slaughtered mines were preparing to wait several hours in the hope of obtaining a solution to a flight canceled in a long line in front of the Air Canada kiosk at Dorval airport on Friday. Among them:

No show Sunday?

Four musicians began to pester in Spanish, discovering that Air Canada was going to offer them anything to leave Montreal for several days.

“We have a concert in Mexico City on Sunday and we will have to reimburse the producer and the room if we do not show up,” deplores Sara Curruchich, a Guatemalan singer returning from a Quebec tour. She came from Gaspé on Friday.

“It could cost us dearly by preventing us from honoring contracts,” worries the artist.

Lost family

A couple with a overwhelmed air waved on the phone while waiting to know how he was going to return home after their flight was canceled.

“We arrive from Germany, our correspondence to Moncton is canceled … and no one helps us, everyone returns the ball,” Rage David Ulrich.

With his wife Iulia, his son Leo, 12, and his daughter Ida, 10, he is afraid of having to resign himself to renting a car and driving 10 hours to reach the destination.

“It’s been 12 hours since I don’t sleep, so driving 10 hours is not a good idea,” says Ulrich.
