Chaumont Plage experienced a moment suspended this August 9. Square Boulingrin had a southern perfume with, such as guests, farmers from goat and dromedaries as well as milk producers and manufacturers of artisanal ice cream from the farm.
Two days before the end, Chaumont Plage lived his most beautiful afternoon on August 9. The site had taken on village square in the south of France. The sun and the heat have a lot to do with it but also the desire to speak, to relax and to share. All generations were there. Toddlers in the boats on the water. The greatest suspension to the elastics. Teenagers on the sand for a football tournament. Parents who meet other parents and the oldest to listen to Clément Remyon and his repertoire of 1,000 songs. Hundreds and hundreds of people were there, themselves surprised by this atmosphere.
For this penultimate day, farmers had invested the premises. They were beset with questions and compliments about their action and their profession. Edwin Guyot came with two of his dromedaries to present them to the public. They do not denote at Square Boulingrin and, with global warming, maybe you have to prepare for such images? A father asks his son for ten years if he is happy to have seen this bump; He responds in the affirmative and adds that he has never seen cows …
Under the beach, farmers
Precisely, in terms of cows, a few meters away, a whole milk tasting takes place. With or without syrup, it was provided by the Departmental Federation of milk producers. In the background, a screen diffuses the milking with a robot. In the same way, the day before, the peasant spirit of Chaumont had offered 200 mini burgers to introduce the flavors of Haute-Marne.
Cédric Barrois, one of Chaumont Plage’s project managers for the city and the agglo, explains that he wanted to bring the agricultural world closer, too often overlooked and too often judged, from the Chaumont world. The bet is successful when seeing the queue lie down in front of the Stand of Justine Aubertin, of Darmannes. It offers farm ice cream with no less than 27 perfumes as well as Italian ice cream, macaroons and tartlets. For her, this kind of event is “ideal for tasting the products and making themselves known”.
The presence of farmers is on the initiative of Estelle Foulon, goat breeder in Riaucourt. She too claims the desire to make herself known and above all to inform Chaumontese and people on vacation on the reality of the profession of breeder. And so, photos in support, she talks about her goats, stating that milk and cheeses are a seasonal product. “You have to take advantage of it during the summer,” she said. As an ambassador, the other message sent is to explain that farms are open to everyone. “You can come. We will be happy to share our passion. »»
