Chez AMDwe are very proud of its range of CPUs and Sasa Marinkovic, director of marketing, has decided to communicate on this subject via its X.com account:
🚀 @AMD news over the past 48 hours 🔥
1. AMD takes GOLD and silver in latest Top500 supercomputers
2. The AMD Threadripper 9000 series is the new king of the HEDT and mainstream workstation CPU markets.
3. AMD Ryzen AI MAX now the only Windows processor capable of running up to… pic.twitter.com/QBxjmHedq3– Sasa Marinkovic (@sasamarkovic) July 30, 2025
A communication visibly a little done with a snatch, since it takes up an image which had already been created in April without even updating it, with just added text on the left and obviously recorded a little anyhow (Screenshot?) Since we see the orthographic corrector which did not appreciate the word “threadripper” and stressed it with a wave …
Because if we follow what is indicated in the text, we should now add to the image a 7th category where AMD would have the most powerful processors in the world according to him, and thus obtain the following list:
Category | Best processors |
---|---|
Supercalculateurs* | AMD EPYC 4e gen (+ Instinct MI300A) |
Cloud, companies and AI | AMD EPYC 9005 |
Work stations or hedt | AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 |
PC IA | AMD Ryzen AI Max |
PC gaming or creation | AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D |
PC Laptop | AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D |
Game consoles | Customized AMD fleas |
According to the top500 ranking of November 2024
The 7th category is therefore now due to the arrival of Ryzen Threadripper 9000 Serieswhich actually strike strongly in both work stations and hedt. Éric has also just tested the Ryzen Threadripper 9980X and 9970X on H&C, we will not question the appearance of this additional line to the list above as the performance is high flight in Hedt.
This obviously does not represent all the sectors where processors are used, otherwise you would have to take out a list of several pages to go to the automobile, smartphones or even your thermomix. This targeted list “X86” still looks great and shows that AMD is not ready to lower the cadence against Intel.
