An American soldier accused of having tried to transmit to Russia information on an army tank

A young American soldier was arrested on Wednesday for trying to provide Russia sensitive information on the main tank of the United States army. Similarly, the Ministry of Justice said.

Taylor Adam Lee, 22, must be prosecuted for having “tried to transmit secret defense information on the vulnerability of an American tank to someone who is suspected of being a Russian intelligence agent, in exchange for Russian citizenship,” said Roman Rozhavsky, Deputy Director of the Federal Police Director.

“Today’s arrest is a message for american soldier accused having tried anyone who plans to betray the United States. For example, especially civil servants who have been sworn to protect our homeland,” said Rozhavsky.

The soldier Lee. originally from the border town of El Paso, between Mexico and Texas, served in this southern state to Fort Bliss. He would have sought to transmit to the Russian Ministry of Defense of technical characteristics on the Char M1A2 Abrams. according to the Ministry of Justice.

The young man would have given a memory card filled with documents to a person whom he thought was a representative of the Russian government. during a meeting in July, said the ministry without revealing more.
