Frayer – An Air France flight between Paris and Sao Paulo was urgently derived from a military base in Portugal after an electrical failure
They had to wait before seeing Brazil and perhaps also at the same time, refine their Portuguese. The passengers of an Air France flight on an Airbus A350-900 connecting Paris and Sao Paulo to Brazil indeed landed, as a precaution, in Portugal. An incident forced the crew to launch a distress signal. The reason for this emergency diversion on a military base from a Portuguese island in Azores in the Atlantic Ocean? An electrical breakdown, report our colleagues from the newspaper Le Figaro.
It was the detection of “an unusual odor of overheating in the cabin” according to Air France, while the plane which had taken off from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport flew over the Canary Islands, which led the crew to land. An “application of the precautionary principle”, commented the company to the specialized Brazilian site Aeroin.
As for passengers, they waited for another Air France plane, a Boeing 777-200er, comes to pick them up before driving them safely.
