Russia struck an American electronics factory in Moukatchevo, in western Ukraine, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, August 21.
A factory of the American electronics company Flex located in western Ukraine in Moukatchevo, was affected by a Russian strike, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday August 21, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ukrainian, Andril Sybiha, in a message published on X.
“In contradiction with the efforts made to end the war, Russia launched a massive air strike on Ukraine that night,” writes Andril Sybiha, adding that “one of the missiles struck an important manufacturer of American electronics”.
“This is not the first Russian strike on an American company in Ukraine,” added the minister, who recalls that Russian strikes have already targeted Boeing offices in kyiv this year.
A factory without “link with the defense or the army”
The American factory Flex was “fully civil” and had “no connection with the defense or the army,” said Andril Sybiha. An assertion confirmed by an employee of the factory, interviewed by the Ukrainian newspaper The Kyiv Independent.
According to local authorities, at least 19 people were injured in the Moukatchevo attack. Photos and videos shared on social networks, notably by Andril Sybiha, show significant damage to the factory premises. On one of them can see an important plume of black smoke escaping from the Flex factory affected by a Russian strike.
According to the employee interviewed by The Kyiv Independent, around 800 people work at night in the Flex factory in Moukatchevo. However, these were able to take shelter before the Russian strike thanks to an alert.
