An earthquake of a magnitude of 4.2 occurred near Mürren, in the Bernese Oberland. Light damage is possible.

An earthquake of a magnitude of around 4.2 on the Richter scale occurred on Muridly Muridly (BE) on Monday noon. This earthquake could be felt throughout Switzerland, according to the Swiss seismological service (SED) of the EPFZ.

The shock occurred at 12:52 p.m. near Mürren, said the SED in an automatic ad. Some light damage is possible near the epicenter for an earthquake of this magnitude.

The Swiss seismological service records between 1000 and 1,500 earthquakes each year. The population feels only 10 to 20. These earthquakes generally have 2.5 or more magnitudes. (JZS/ATS)
