Fueled by the Apple M2le Apple Vision Pro was not at the cutting edge of technology as soon as it was released in February 2024. Its mixed reception was partly due to its very high starting price of 3,499 dollars. According to a recent Bloomberg report https://www.bloomberg.com/News/articles/2025-07-09/apple-readies-first-upgrade-Tro-its-Truggling-vision-Pro-Headset?srnd=undefined&sref=51oiW18F A suite is expected for the end of the year, minors in terms of design and specifications. In particular, Apple would include a new strip intended to improve comfort during prolonged use.
Although the Apple M5 should be launched in the second half of 2025, the new helmet will probably always have Apple M4 technology – an ARM chip presented for the first time more than a year ago with the ipad pro (about $ 899 on Amazon). Bloomberg does not expect these two improvements to make the pro vision a commercial success. Nevertheless, associated with Visionos 26 software improvements, the updated helmet could become an attractive platform for developers and business users.
For a wider adoption, Apple will need a much larger applications ecosystem when launching its helmet for the general public, perhaps in 2027. Under the code name “N100”, this device would be much lighter and more affordable. Apple would also work on a pair of smart glasses without screen, equipped with speakers, microphones, cameras and, above all, artificial intelligence capacities.
