Aquatic Worlds | Summer McIntosh wins his fourth gold medal in a week

(Singapore) Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh completed the world aquatic championships in Singapore with a fifth medal, including four gold, making it the first Canadian woman with so many individual medals in the same championship.

La Torontoise, 18, completed these Worlds with a gold medal in the 400m QNI final on Sunday.

The Australian Jenna Forrester rose on the second step of the podium and the Japanese Mio Narita finished third. A Chinese athlete aged only 12 years old, Zidi Yu, found herself at the foot of the podium in fourth row.

At the end of the eight days of competition, McIntosh will leave with four gold medals, those of the events with 400 m QNI, 400 m free style, 200 m four swimming and 200 m butterfly. She also won bronze on Saturday at the 800m free style final.

Summer McIntosh was aimed at the conquest of five individual titles, a feat accomplished during the same edition of the Worlds only by the American Michael Phelps.
