Almost two years after the facts, a robbery in a jewelry store was elucidated, the Valais police said on Wednesday. The Italian authorities had already arrested the two alleged perpetrators in February 2024: a 34 -year -old man and a 31 -year -old woman, both from Italy.
(Keystone-ATS) The facts date back to November 14, 2023 when shortly before 5:00 p.m., two strangers burst into jewelry. Under the threat of an alarm pistol, they demanded the content of the cash register as well as several jewelry of total value of more than 150,000 francs. The authors then fled with the loot indicated the police in a press release.
Following the investigations carried out under the direction of the public prosecutor, the police also discovered a link between the two suspects and an attempted burglary in a jewelry in Brig in January 2024. In addition, the two alleged perpetrators were also suspected of having committed similar crimes in northern Italy. In early February 2024, they were even arrested in Italy by the Italian authorities.
According to the current state of the investigation, the police established that the man would have committed the robbery to the viège, while the woman would have participated as an accomplice. The public prosecutor has opened an instruction.
