Pierre Gavin, passionate pilot from Tarn-et-Garonne, is about to live a moment of glory this weekend on the Is-sur-Tille circuit, in Côte-d’Or. The only representative of his department among the three qualified as Occitania, he will align himself at the start of the final heats of the French championship of champion-chases on Earth, in other words the coach, a demanding sport, mixing speed, technique and endurance.
At 71, Pierre is not a novice in the world. Since his 19 years, he has been traveling the self -taught circuits, animated by an intact passion. Passed by the Buggy Cross, a discipline in which he reached the national finals twice, he has experienced ups and downs, but never abandoned.
Among the 30 best French pilots
After a break from a few seasons, he found the high level, proving that perseverance and passion know no age. This is how he managed to qualify for this final national stage, thanks to his performances during five regional rounds, which allowed him to climb among the 30 best pilots in France.
His secret weapon: a proto he built himself with the help of Gilles Robert, a chassis expert. This vehicle, mounted with a tubular chassis and equipped with a 125 horsepower 206 S16 engine, associated with a right pinery box, reflects the determination of stone to push its limits. Faced with a raised competition, he hopes to win a place in final A, which would represent a consecration for this experienced pilot.
Pierre takes up this challenge surrounded by the team he patiently formed, Racing Team MG, bringing together friends and enthusiasts.
