A shooting in a bar in Montana, in the northwest of the United States, left at least four dead this Friday. The authorities have announced that they are looking for a potentially armed suspect.
At least four people died in a shooting in a bar in Anaconda, Montana, this Friday, August 1 in the morning. Local authorities said they were looking for a suspect “suspected of being armed”. “An important police device is deployed to the west of the city of Anaconda,” said the Montana road authorities on its Facebook page.
The authorities of the County Anaconda indicate that the suspect, identified as Michael Paul Brown, “was seen for the last time in the district of Stomptown”.
An open investigation
“It is advisable to the public to stay away from the Stomptown and surroundings district,” they recommend. Following this, several establishments were forced to close.
“We are in Montana, the firearms are therefore not a novelty for us. That our city is confined has shaken everyone,” said Associated Press Barbie Nelson, the owner of a cafe in Anaconda.
The latter explains that “we all probably know someone who was” present in this bar, located in this city of 9,000 inhabitants. An investigation was opened, especially on the circumstances of the shooting which have not been disclosed.
On his social networks, the governor of Montana Greg Gianforte indicates “to follow the situation closely”, welcoming “the brave agents of the police who intervene on this tragedy”. For his part, Senator Ryan Zinke invites “anyone to Anaconda to stay at home and lock its doors”.
