In total, no less than 4,280 Canadian athletes will participate in this national competition. It is also 19 sports that will be featured.
For their part, the Richelieu-Yamaska’s color racks having deserved their place for these games will be in action in swimming, volleyball and athletics.
Two swimmers are currently in a swimming pool in the province of Newfoundland, Antoine St-Germain and Tyson Jacob, both from Granby. The two young men are members of the otter swimming club.
Two volleyball athletes will make their entry during the second block of the competition which begins next Sunday. These volleyball players evolve in the same development team, that is to say the AS of Sand of Granby. Wêve Joly and Christophe Godin will try to bring back medals in the colors of Canada’s summer games in their hometown.
Christophe Godin will participate for his very first time in this important sports gathering. In an interview, he mentioned that he feels good at the dawn of his arrival in Newfoundland. “I feel feverish, I am excited and I can’t wait to get there,” said the volleyball player.
The young athlete said openly that his brigade is not the best of all. “We know that we are not the favorites, but we want to show what we are capable of,” he said despite their status asunderdog to this tournament.
The Quebec training is made up of 12 players, but only six of them will be ready for the first meetings. The member of the Sand AS will have the honor of finding himself within the starting training.
However, the young man is not in these first steps in this kind of event that has already participated in several major competitions.
The primary goal of his team will be to have fun while showing others what they are capable of.

Make way for athletics
As always, athletics will occupy a large place in these games, and a Granbyan athlete will be part of them. Sabrina-Yumi Parent will participate in Canada Games in two disciplines, the 100 m and the 200 m.
The athlete recently participated in the special Olympic Games in Granby. During this competition, the 22 -year -old woman collected several medals.
She doesn’t hide it. The young athlete hopes to do even better aimed at better times during her shopping. “I want to get a few seconds less,” said Sabrina-Yumi Parent.
Her mother, Sonia B. Gauthier, recalled that she is proud of her daughter who continues to surpass herself despite her TSA. “She is returned that she travels more than me,” said the mother.
