The suspect of an attempted murder in Charlesbourg, district of Quebec City, was arrested while hiding in a car trunk on Monday in the middle of the day. The event would be linked to domestic violence.
Monday morning around 10:30 a.m., 911 received several calls saying that a man would have beaten a woman on Avenue Doucet in the Charlesbourg sector, and that she would be injured.
The police arrested the suspect, a man in his forties known to the police, around 12:30 pm “following an interception of vehicle on Boulevard Sainte-Anne, near Boulevard des Fluts,” said the police service in Quebec City (SPVQ).
The suspect had fled on foot before the police arrived, but was found after some research.
The victim, injured in the stabbing, was taken care of by the patrollers and transported to a hospital center. However, one does not fear for his life.
“A perimeter has been established in the sector and the dog handler was used to locate the suspect,” adds the SPVQ.
The suspect will appear on Tuesday at the Quebec courthouse.
