Belgium wants to reduce digital fractures

Europe has set a clear course: by 2030, 80 % of citizens must be able to fully use digital tools. In Belgium, we are only 54 %.

It is this gap that the Minister of Public Action and Modernization wants to fill, Vanessa Matz, officially by launching the call for projects Digital inclusion 2025.
“Digital inclusion is not a luxury, it is a democratic necessity,” insists the minister. His ambition: to ensure that the digital transition benefits everyone, without leaving aside those who struggle to follow the cadence.

Three priority fronts

Applicants will have to choose a specific axis to develop their project:

  • The appropriation of digital technologiesin order to help workers, managers or young people to acquire the essential skills – from basic uses to artificial intelligence.
  • Accessibility and inclusiveness of digital servicesin a context where websites and applications are multiplying, but where many users still come up against technical or social barriers.
  • The place of women in digitala sector where they remain in the minority. The European objective is to double the number of women active in digital technology by 2030.

Up to 200,000 euros per project

The total envelope reaches 1.148 million euros. Each project can receive between 80,000 and 200,000 euros, with a funding rate that can cover all costs. The initiatives selected will have to start in January 2026 and end at the latest at the end of 2026.
