Can the government come across Gaza?

We are not yet talking about a government crisis. But the situation becomes complicated. From there to think that Gaza could cause the fall of the Wever government, there is a step that most observers and political actors refuse to cross.

Having a government dropped is never trivial. We will remember that in 2010, the Open VLD directed at the time by Alexander de Croo had caused the fall of a government on the BHV issue. The Flemish liberals had not really collected the fruits of their decision in the ballot boxes.

More recently, six months before the end of the Michel government (at the end of 2018), the N-VA had dropped the government on the Marrakech pact, this international migration treaty. But at the time, elections had not been summoned and the Michel government had continued to exist until the election of 2019. Rarely a government falls on a question of international politics, but it has therefore already happened.

We will know it in the coming days or weeks.
