CCI Valais considers the relief program unacceptable

The Confederation 2027 budget reduction program is unacceptable. It is not a union that writes it but the very liberal Valais chamber of trade and industry.

For the Valais CCI, the problem does not reside with the target, that is to say the financial balance. But in the way of achieving it. Of the three billion annual savings wanted, the share of the Confederation will be just 6%, she calculated. The rest will be obtained through new tax punctures, in particular on the capital withdrawals of the 2nd and 3rd pillars, and, above all, a transfer of charges towards the cantons and the municipalities.

For Valais, the requested effort would have disproportionate repercussions, estimates the CCI Valais, especially in fields such as natural dangers management, forest protection, infrastructure security or public and road transport.

The CCI Valais therefore claims a revision of these provisions which “question the security, attractiveness and viability of entire regions” and invites the Confederation to reduce “its own lifestyle”.
