The trade in PC components in France is almost exclusively in the hands of the LDLC group. The market opens with the arrival of the Fnac Darty group.
To buy a graphics card, a case, a diet, or a processor, you usually have to turn to the LDLC group in France.
The alternatives are few, but one in size is coming up this week. The Fnac Darty group launched a component section on fnac.com.
The problem of hardware in France
The LDLC group has multiplied the buyouts over the years. It brings together LDLC sites, rue du Commerce, Materiel.net and Topachat, and previously the Hardware.fr store which has closed this year.
As an alternative, we mainly find the Cybertek group with the Grosbill brand. The others like Cdiscount and Amazon are much more generalist and do not offer such a complete catalog.
As a result, the prices of components in France are significantly higher than in our European neighbors, Germany or Spain in particular.
The timid beginnings of Fnac
The Fnac site now offers a section dedicated to computer components on its site.
However, by taking a closer look at the catalog, we realize that for the moment the essential is sold in marketplace, with third -party sellers, and not directly by Fnac.com.
Depending on the categories, it is sometimes necessary to sort to find the products actually marketed by Fnac. The deployment still seems to be in progress.
It remains to be seen what will be the price policy offered by Fnac, especially at the end of the year with commercial events such as Black Friday.
