Wednesday, August 6, hundreds of trucks and cars are arrested on the A61 motorway near Narbonne (Aude). They want to join Spain, but the outings are closed because of the nearby fire. Traffic is completely saturated. Everyone tries to find a solution. “The only way would be to go back to Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) and take the A66. But there, it is not going to be possible. We have six hours on the road “share a motorist.

The A9 motorway is cut between Narbonne and Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) in both directions. Everyone takes secondary, very congested roads. Some preferred to stop to take their pain in patience. Others try to get out of the traffic jams. “If it continues, we’re going to sleep here, unless the highway reopens, but it is closed”, A heavyweight driver despairs.

The smoke of the fire progresses towards the sea. The firefighters hope to contain the fire so that it does not cross the highway. It is advisable to avoid any movement in the sector.
