“Derborence”, one of the masterpieces of Swiss cinema, projected in Delémont

It will be one of the highlights of Delémont’s Open Air Cinema. The film “Derborence” will be screened Thursday in the presence of its producer, the Delonetan Claude Stadelmann. This projection will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of a work that obtained the César for the best French-speaking film in 1986. Taken from the novel by Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, “Derborence” retraces the history of a drama in the Alps with the collapse of the mountain. Claude Stadelmann: “Filming was one of the largest undertook in French -speaking Switzerland. It was necessary to reconstruct the decor in the Val d’Anniviers. Technically, the film is shot like a western.

With this projection in Delémont, Claude Stadelmann pays tribute to director Francis Reusser with whom he worked since 1977 until his death in 2020. “Derborence”, it is also the story of a mountain disaster in the 18th century.
