Divion: Delphine Demessines, new director of the Polyclinique de la Clarence – “Divion meets real needs”

The Polyclinique de la Clarence of the Ahnac group has recaded from the steering. Less than a year after his arrival in June 2024, Patrick Bossu left the establishment for a personal project. It was Delphine Demessines who resumed the reins a few months ago. Encounter.

A native of the region, it is a dynamic young woman and visibly delighted to be in this place that presents itself to us. The fiber of medical responsibilities, she has had it since the start of her career. She quickly knew that she would work in the field … without becoming a doctor: ” I have always had a big appetite for the medical world but I could not have been medicine, I am not in my heart enough question of blood and intervention She smiles. Never mind, “We can work in health differently », And this is what she heads for: she chooses legal training in health law to destined for the functions of hospitality personnel. After the School of Rennes, she will not spend less than 11 years at the Lille CHU where she became manager of women, mother and new born. Then, the Elsan group offered him, 4 years ago, a management position in the private sector at the Somain ophthalmic institute.

When she learns that an opportunity arises at the Directorate of the Polyclinique de la Clarence, Delphine Demessines immediately offers her candidacy: “ I had heard of the Ahnac group and I found the values it advocates, a certain benevolence. I wanted to join him. In addition, the polyclinic has maternity and I wanted to take the direction at all ».

Returned, she took office last February. Five months at work which only make it confirm it in its right choice: ” In terms of structure, it’s great. I have already worked in a larger establishment but it is the most varied because there are all the specialties ». A new challenge that she took pleasure in taking up: “I discovered a new way of managing, a new medical team with new coordination and in a new territory. It is still 17 establishments in the group, and a beautiful dynamic. We rub shoulders and we share our difficulties. Working together is great. Health is the basis of teamwork. It is a transversality that I like. A real everyday challenge, I came for that and I am not disappointed! “She also got to know the patients of the mining basin and quickly understands how essential the polyclinic of the Clarence is in the sector:” We are located in a triangular. Divion has all its relevance in terms of local care and meets real needs ».

The new director took up her duties at a time when the polyclinic obtained her “high quality of care” certification granted by the High Authority for Health (Review every 4 years) with a level B: “ It’s very good, we are very happy, it’s very comfortable ». As for the new derogatory intensive care unit whose work was launched a year ago (from 8 to 12 beds), it will be operational in September. Very good bases which lead him to be able to devote himself fully to new projects: “ My priority was to find a balance in the workload. Now the challenge is to still find doctors who join us, to stabilize the workforce ». Then come, the work of the emergency department: ” It is 30,000 admissions per year. My goal is to redesign in 2026 ». There is also the desire to energize maternity, the only one remaining within the perimeter, ” by reviewing the accommodation offer in particular ”to maintain the offer of surgery, as well as to continue to develop the women’s pole and the Séno (breasts) and gynecologist cancer, ” and endometriosis also with screening ». The director also wishes ” Work on the patient’s journey to better anticipate return home after hospitalization and/or surgery. We want to be structuring in our care ». Finally, she wants to make sleep disorders better known: ” We have a lab to develop ».

In her new functions and all these perspectives, she is preciously seconded from an assistant (or operations director can still say). Sarah Lafrance had left the polyclinic during a parenthesis between 2020 and 2024: “ I wanted to come back because I like this establishment, there is a very good collaboration between doctors and staff in general who make it its particularity. A very good state of mind and all want to advance in the same direction. I still had plans to make it grow ». So, that is to say that the duo was found to project himself into a bright future, for the polyclinic and for the inhabitants.

As a reminder, establishment of the AHNAC group, a non -profit association, the Polyclinique de la Clarence is a private establishment but with a public service mission, without any exceeding of fees.
