A horse breeder and his daughter killed by bullets

The two victims were domiciled in Virac, a neighboring village. The father, a 65 -year -old farmer, “raised horses in the town for many years,” said the mayor of Virac, Aline Redo, currently on the move but who was informed yesterday of the drama. “He has retired recently,” continues the elected official, and wanted to pass the torch to his 25 -year -old daughter.

The breeder had rented a field for several years in Labastide-Gabausse to put horses there. “We crossed him on Saturday around 12 noon, he was taking over in the area,” said a resident of the village. It was the owner of the land that would have shot them before committing suicide.

It was in a field at the back of the farm that the victims brought their horses.

The author of the shots killed himself

This 56-year-old man grew up in the village, in a farmhouse along the La Zère stream, a stone’s throw from the Notre-Dame church and the town hall, where his parents had settled in the 1950s. “He lived alone with his cats,” said one of his neighbors met this Monday morning. According to another resident of the village, he had an adjustment course and worked in Carmaux.

What happened so that he came to kill two people? The ferment of its field seems to be the cause of a conflict with the victims. “He may not have supported the cutting work and he disgusted,” said this resident. The rental of his lands would also have been a stumbling block with the horse farmer, who wanted his daughter to regain the ferment while the owner would have in mind to entrust him to someone else.

A sealed was placed on the front door of the shooter’s house.
