Drowning at the WAM Park Fontainebleau leisure center: the deceased 11 -year -old girl suffered from autistic disorders

It is a terrible drama that occurred this Sunday on the Wam Park leisure center in Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne). In the middle of the afternoon, an 11-year-old girl died by drowning, in the swimming area of the water park. The victim was part of a group of young people with disabilities, who came from Arpajon (Essonne).

According to our information, it was an educator who supervised the group who gave the alert. “She warned the master swimmer that she no longer saw one of her young people, suffering from autistic disorders,” said Romain Llobet, the general manager of the Wam Park group, whose headquarters are in Savoy.

Found in cardiorepiratory arrest

An intense research campaign then starts in the body of swimming space, but also on the rest of the base. After twenty minutes, the victim is unfortunately discovered in cardiorepiratory arrest immersed in the water.

Base rescuers start a cardiac massage, also with the installation of a defibrillator. Rescuers arrive quickly on the scene. The little girl could not be revived. The death was pronounced around 5 p.m. The little girl would have escaped the surveillance of her supervisors, with whom she was on this very hot and sunny Sunday.

“We closed all the activities thirty to forty-five minutes later, then we had the public of the site evacuated,” said Charlély Ciscard, the sad look, master swimmer for seven years and director at Wam Park. Like his other colleagues, he appeared very marked. Some remain together on site, surely in the idea of supporting each other, two hours after the accident.

The group had 11 educators for 12 young people with disabilities

Around 7 p.m., silence is weighing on the basis. The sun sets slowly on the now calm lake. Unoccupied inflatable games float on water that normally receives people until 8:30 p.m. “On a day like this one welcomes 600 to 1,000 visitors,” explains Charlély.

According to Romain Llobet, surveillance was properly carried out on the base this Sunday, “with a total of six swimming masters, one of which was in place on the bathing space” at the time of the drama. He tells us that the center of Arpajon which supervised the group had 11 educators for 12 young people with disabilities.
