The French engine manufacturer Safran announced this Thursday to choose France to set up a new carbon brake plant in Ain with an entry into service scheduled for 2030, representing “an investment of more than 450 million euros in the long term”.
“The energy that can represent up to 30% of the cost of manufacturing a carbon brake, the warranty for this new factory of secure access to decarbonized electricity at a stable and competitive long -term price has enabled this choice of implementation,” the group said in a press release. Safran said, at the end of 2024, to hesitate to install this project in North America due to the cost of energy.
