Estelle Keraldy, 37 -year -old Reunion, posed a Bypass: “I had a weight of 134 kilos”

In 2019, Estelle Keraldy, a 31 -year -old Reunioner, was laid a Bypass. This obesity surgery consists in modifying the anatomy of the stomach by reducing its size. A success for her since she lost several tens of kilos.

Victim of sad contests of circumstances, Estelle Keraldy had to face various tests and this had consequences on her health.

“At the time of my childhood, I was slim and when my parents separated there was divorce and I fell into food. I was nibbling, I was eating. Then there was the death of my father in April 2017.”

She meets the father of her first daughter in an emergency accommodation center. After pregnancy, she then weighs 100 kilos. Victim of violence, she leaves him. “QUand I left him he went with another woman, who was the victim of rape. He was then condemned and imprisoned “.

Later, she met the father of her second daughter. “Pregnant, I then weigh 115 kilos. Let’s go in junk food, sugary drinks. “”

It gains weight and reached 134 kilos. “”I make entries and exits to the hospital, the attending physician told me that you have to do something. My mother was against it but I made the decision to make a bypass. ”

It was operated at the age of 31 at the Western Hospital Center Réunion (CHOR). At the exit of operation, it then weighs 131 kg.

The days, the weeks go by, the mother arrives at a weight of 70 kilos. If she resumed twenty kilos a few years after this operation, she testifies to her situation: “Now I can move better, when before I couldn’t move. I had help, home nurses. It has changed my life, I can do activities, it doesn’t bother me. I feel better. “”

Estelle does not keep negative consequences of this intervention, “At the beginning, certain foods did not enter. After I can eat anything. I did a diet after the bypass, and currently I am followed by the CHU de Bordeaux, and also a device for sleep apnea”. She also confides that during her last hospitalization, she made a biopsy which revealed an esophagus link, “Who can become cancer. I have a treatment for that.”

She has now lived in mainland France for 3 years and has created an association there.

This somewhat difficult start of life will have marked the mother who is now wanting to send a message to people with morbid obesity: “I advise them to do physical activities, not to be afraid, to take courage because it will change their life.
