Euro 2025 women: Switzerland, country of sport despite the budget cuts

Like many French -speaking people on this land that I hate the highest point, I will finish one of my texts with “Abe”, to a good understanding. That of a Swiss people who proved that they could do, love, look and invest in sport. Again.

Because ultimately, what brings us together, in a year like the others? The F-35? The guys who launch flags in the middle of the country? The votes, the Federal Council? Culture? Not even the language, some want to start with English rather than one of the other national languages. The media? Lol. We are a fragmented country, almost divided, federal therefore. Okay, ok, there is also August 1 … But if not? Well yes, there is still sport. That sport. And this euro has proven it.

It is almost the only time in the calendar where being proud to be Swiss is tolerated by everyone. Finally, 99% of the population. It’s crazy anyway. And there again, just to not completely slip, I will not mention the benefits of all this for integration. The photos of teams summarically summarize what is modern Switzerland, my Swiss to me. And too bad if some do not know the words of the anthem.

A European female championship that had nevertheless seen the Federal Council attempted last minute to save candlelight on its back. After obtaining the organization by betting a sum of 15 million francs, the “seven wise men” tried to bring the bill back to 4 million! But what’s wrong with these people?!
