Europe opens in green, defense still in pain

(Reuters) – The main European scholarships advance at the start of the session on Monday, while the markets are preparing for a week marked by commercial and international negotiations and the publication of crucial data on inflation in the United States.

In Paris, the CAC 40 earns 0.11% at 7,751.75 points around 07:13 GMT. In Frankfurt, the Dax advances 0.17% and in London, the FTSE 100 rises by 0.28%.

The Eurostoxx 50 index increased by 0.25%, the FTSEUROFirst 300 wins 0.35%and the Stoxx 600 advance of 0.32%.

At the start of the week, investors are waiting for news from the commercial front, while the deadline set by the United States on Tuesday for the establishment of customs duties on Chinese products, although an extension of the deadline is expected.

In addition, American president Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin must meet on Friday in Alaska for negotiations aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

After having already fallen Friday at the announcement of a meeting between the two leaders, the defense sector in Europe is still struggling. German companies Hensoldt, Rheinmetall and Renk fall between 3% and 5%. In Paris, Thales fell by 2.45%.

ORSTED abandoned 22.94% after announcing its intention on Monday to proceed with a issue of rights worth 60 billion crowns ($ 9.4 billion), invoking the unfavorable evolution of the offshore wind market in the United States.
