Finally good news for Tesla as these figures prove in Europe

Would the end of the tunnel approach the Tesla Model Y? Deliveries of the most accessible versions allowed the electric SUV to go back to European sales. It remains to be seen if it will be sufficient in the face of ever more fierce competition.

True locomotive for Tesla sales, best world sale in 2023 and (perhaps) in 2024, the model was of capital importance for the good health of the American brand.

Las, the start of the year, notably marked by the launch of the restyled version, saw a frank drop in sales of the electric SUV. A situation that could be about to finish in Europe, if we believe the figures of Hundred.

A return to normal?

The assessment of the independent firm is final: the first quarter of 2025 was catastrophic for the Y model in Europe, with sales down 48 % compared to the previous year.

The second quarter, on the other hand, was less negative: “only” 6.7 % less sales in May and even a shy +0.1 % in June, enough to limit the breakage to -13 % on the whole of the quarter and -33 % in the first half, with 68,801 units registered against 102,321 in 2024.

The reasons? First, the change of generation, with deliveries starting with the most expensive versions (the expensive Launch Edition then the all -wheel drive versions).

The entry -level versions only started their deliveries with a few imbroglios, such as the delay in eligibility for the ecological bonus in France, which blocked the qualifiable versions for several weeks.

Always number 1

The fact remains that, even despite this air hole, the Tesla Model remains the best -selling electric car in Europe since the beginning of the year; Second place returns to Volkswagen ID.4, a direct competitor, but which leaves 28,466 deviations of deviations, i.e. 41 % lower sales.

As for the rest of the electric SUVs, the Skoda Enyaq is in 9 ° place (32,806 sales), the Audi Q6 e-tron in 11 ° (25,802 sales) and the Renault Scénic e-tech, despite a remarkable increase of 282 % in a year, is confined to 18 ° place with 18,963 sales.

And if they sell less well, this electrical SUV display proves that the competition is growing, both in quantity and quality, fatally snacking on market share. The salvation of the model could come from a more affordable version, which Musk has just promised for the end of 2025.
