The Aude prefecture has decided to ban all the fireworks planned for national holidays, with the exception of that of Carcassonne.

While several large -scale fires have raged in the Aude department, the Aude prefecture has decided to ban all the fireworks planned for the national holiday between July 12 and 31, as well as the sale and use of entertainment artifices over the same period. The only exception: the fireworks of Carcassonne, which is maintained and will take place as scheduled on July 14.

“Possible offenses to these provisions will be noted by trial and will lead to the immediate referral to the competent public prosecutor on the jurisdiction concerned on the basis of an article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the endangered of the life of others,” the prefecture announced in a press release.

The prefect calls everyone to the greatest vigilance. “As a reminder, all the lights in Lagrasse, Bizanet, Moux and Narbonne-Bages lead to a total of more than 3,000 cumulative hectares traveled in just 10 days,” said the prefecture.
