The national police canceled the sanctions for a vehicle flashed at 130km/h on a road limited to 90 on July 12: the driver was driving towards maternity, which he could not reach so much the birth was imminent.
A nice souvenir photo: the national police broadcast the shot of a Citroën flashed at 130 km/h on a road limited to 90. This proof taken by an automatic radar will not however give rise to sanctions, because the driver had a very good reason to be in a hurry.
The vehicle was indeed flashed on July 12 on the Rocade of Joué-lès-Tours while it was on the way to maternity, explains the X account of the National Police of Indre-et-Loire.
“Humanity and discernment”
An excess speed that did not even allow the hospital to be reached in time: “It is in their car that little Nino was born, without waiting to arrive at maternity,” explains the message published on X.
“Faced with this exceptional situation, and given the absolute emergency of the moment, the ticket of 135 euros will be canceled,” added the national police.
For this speed excess equal to or greater than 30 km/h and less than 40 km/h to the limitation in force, the driver also exposed to the loss of 3 points on his driving license, or even 4 points if the speed chosen was indeed 130 km/h.
“Road safety remains a priority, but some stories deserve to be treated with humanity and discernment,” concludes the message that welcomes little nino and congratulates his parents.
