For lack of Epolo on Tolu and Penalty forgotten for the Raal against Charleroi? The referee department clearly contrasts – all football

According to the referees department, the Raal should have benefited from a penalty against Charleroi, and Matthieu Epolo was well guilty of a fault on Tolu Arokodare in the area.

The disputes are not multiple after this third day of Pro League. If the circle of Bruges was undermined by a deserved expulsion during the Northern Venice derby and Ohl conceded three penalties (including one canceled) and a red card at the Antwerp, only two phases caught the attention of the referees department.

The raal should have benefited from a penalty against Charleroi

The first took place during the Walloon shock between La Louvière and Charleroi, when the wolves could probably claim a penalty to do 2-0. In any case, this is what the Professional Refereeing Department (PRD) said in his press release.

“During this action, Jordi Liongola de la Louvière was struck by the rear by the Charleroi player Etienne Camara in the penalty area, which prevents him from properly controlling the ball and continuing his action.”

“The Charleroi player, having a clear vision of his opponent’s position, never seeks to play the ball. He deliberately jostles him from behind, obviously impacting his progression. In this situation, the PRD considers that a penalty in favor of the Louvière must be granted. If that is not the case, an intervention of the Var is expected.”

Standard is doing well against Genk

The other phase took place this Sunday during the meeting between Standard and Genk. Five minutes before the end of regulation time, Matthieu Epolo missed his release and touched the head of Tolu Arokodare. The Var did not flinch, but should have done so, according to the department of referees.

“Following a center, the goalkeeper of Standard Matthieu Epolo comes out late with the fist forward to try to divert the ball. He cannot touch the ball and strikes the rear of the skull of the striker of Genk Tolu Arokodare with his fist and/or his arm.”

“In this case, we consider that a penalty must be granted as a final decision. In the absence of this decision, an intervention by the Var is expected.”
