On July 4, a fire broke out on the second floor of a building in the 18th arrondissement of the capital. On the sixth floor, two mothers find themselves blocked by the smoke, hold their children at arm’s length at the windows to protect them from smoke.

In the images taken by a resident and become viral, we see Fousseynou Cissé advancing on a cornice, then in balance in the corner between the two buildings of the residence, passing two babies, two children and two mothers from the apartment window to another.

This distinction “really marks a new era for me”, reacted Fousseynou Cissé. “There were people who were desperate, in disarray, who were looking for help. Suddenly, I did not think. It is an instinct,” he said.
