A driver domiciled in Switzerland was arrested by the French gendarmes after being checked at 282 km/h on the A42 motorway. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, around 7 p.m., in the Mâcon-Lyon direction, near Dagneux, about twenty kilometers from Lyon, reports “Progress”.
The Departmental Road Safety Squadron of Ain hunted the vehicle which was circulating at a speed much higher than the authorized limit on French motorways, fixed at 130 km/h. The driver therefore exceeded this limit of more than 150 km/h.
Driving an Audi RS6
The police intercepted the Swiss motorist who led an Audi RS6, a sports vehicle whose power can exceed 600 horsepower. After this serious offense, the vehicle was immediately seized and brought to the pound, in accordance with the procedures in force for major speeding.
The driver was placed in police custody by the French authorities immediately after his arrest. He will have to answer for his actions to French justice, which could pronounce severe sanctions given the magnitude of the offense. In France, as in Switzerland, such speeding is considered a road offense.
