France intensifies its humanitarian aid by air drops

These operations were organized by Jordan with several partners (United Arab Emirates, Germany, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium) which made it possible, in all, to drop nearly 1,000 tonnes of aid, the equivalent of sixty trucks.

Since October 2023, France has sent nearly 1,200 tonnes of humanitarian equipment to Gaza, including medicines, medical equipment and basic necessities. Part of this humanitarian freight remains, however, “blocked in Egypt and Jordan due to the Israeli blockade”, including 52 tonnes sent in February 2025 with Qatar and the European Union.

Funds to meet essential needs

In addition, since 2023, France has mobilized more than 250 million euros in aid for the Palestinian civilian population (100 million in 2023, 100 million in 2024 and 50 million planned this year), “through NGOs and international organizations”.

“French funding primarily cover the health, nutrition, and water/sanitation/sanitation sectors”. Finally, “a specific support of 450,000 euros was also granted for an international NGO project in Egypt in favor of Palestinian children evacuated from Gaza”, according to these diplomatic sources.
