La Poste announced Friday the suspension of parcel traffic to the United States, apart from small shipments of individuals, in the wake of several European postal service operator in response to the new customs rules decided by Washington.
“Only gifts between individuals of less than $ 100 will be maintained, not being affected by this tax,” said La Poste in a press release.
This decision occurs after the Trump administration announced last month that it has adopted a decree that changes customs procedures for packages sent to the United States, the Post invoking “always incomplete technical methods” and an “extremely short time to prepare”.
The German logistics giant DHL also said on Friday that it has suspended the sending of standard packages for companies based in the United States, like the Austrian post at the start of the week.
