France Télévisions strengthens its accessibility to people with disabilities

Committed to the CNCPH (National Advisory Council for Disableds) in favor of the visibility of people with disabilities and the accessibility of its offers, France Télévisions strengthens the subtitling of Franceinfo Canal 16 and its regional antennas.

The public group continues to expand the accessibility of its offers to deaf and hard of hearing people with new unpublished developments put in place soon:

  • Full subtitling of Franceinfo Canal 16 on TNT and FAI boxes : After developing on the platform and application france.tv as well as on the application franceinfo Automatic subtitling of the continuous information chain, France Télévisions will offer in a few weeks the entire subtitling* from Franceinfo on the TNT and the boxes.
  • Integral subtitling of information editions of France 3 Paris Île-de-France (here 12/13 and here 19/20) : For the first time, a regional information offer from France Télévisions will be accessible for deaf and hard of hearing with semi-automatic subtitling. This eagerly awaited development on the part of associative actors will see the light of day in the coming months. In the test phase, it may eventually be deployed on other regional antennas.
  • Subtitling four debates on regional antennas : On the occasion of the next municipal elections, four regional branches will each experiment with semi-automatic subtitling during an electoral debate they will organize.

I salute the announcements of France Télévisions which meet a strong expectation of the National Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities. With the expansion of the accessibility system for information editions of France 3 Paris Ile-de-France and to electoral debates in 4 regions for the next municipal elections, the choices of the public audiovisual service contribute to strengthen access to participation in public debate and to citizenship and extend the dynamics initiated in recent years, in particular with the full subtitling of Franceinfo programs.
