The State of Friborg supports eleven cultural projects which promote collaboration between professionals and amateurs of the artistic environment, as it announced in a press release published on August 13, 2025. In total, 100,500 francs will be attributed to initiatives from various disciplines and different regions of the canton.

The Friborg culture service launched this call for projects last January, in partnership with the Loterie Romande. The objective was to encourage skills exchange and common artistic practice between professional and amateur artists. This impulse measure follows the success of a first edition in 2023.

Strong participation and rigorous selection

The call aroused great interest with 33 sketches of projects received. A jury of experts has made a selection in two stages. Thirteen project leaders were first invited to submit a complete request, while other applications have been redirected to the usual support systems of the culture service.

The eleven projects selected cover a wide range of artistic fields. Two concern music, with the Association Bleu Soleil and the Friborg Chamber Orchestra. Four touch the scene arts, worn by the cultured, the company Ayamo, the company Brosse Adam and the Ljubav I Pobuna collective. Literature, cinema, heritage and digital are also represented with the Association words et marvels, young Friborg cinema, the Morat museum and the Brathe museum, respectively. An interdisciplinary project mixing textile arts and literature, carried by the Epistle, completes the selection.

A reinforced Friborg tradition

These projects will take place between July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026. They are part of the Friborg tradition of collaboration between amateurs and professionals, which the canton has been looking to strengthen since 2023. Support for collaborative cultural projects are granted on the basis of different thematic calls. After that of 2023 on the amateur-professional collaboration, another call had been launched in 2024 for projects linking culture and tourism.

This initiative aims to create bridges between the cultural field and other sectors such as the social, the association, the economic or the tourist. It testifies to the will of the canton of Friborg to promote cultural participation and to support innovative projects that decompartmentalize artistic practices.
