From F1 to the road, the new boss of Renault wants to avoid the crash!

And what could be better for that than staying in the footsteps of Luca de Meo? François Provost advocates continuity for Renault.

No question for the new man behind the wheel of Renault to take a too tight turn. Just installed in the driver’s driver’s headquarters at the diamond, François Provost immediately announces the color, he will keep the course. His predecessor, Luca de Meo, has straightened the trajectory with his “Renaulution” plan, and Provost intends to continue on this same path, simply pressing a little stronger on the accelerator.

During the presentation of the 2025 half -yearly results, the new CEO promised to invest in new products while bringing them more quickly to the market. The proof? The next Twingo, which has completed its development in just 21 months, becomes the model to follow. A record time which, according to Provost, must now serve as a reference to the whole house. A way to keep the pace in the face of Chinese competition that tumbles at full speed with its affordable and developed models on forced march.

Another point on which Provost does not touch the wheel, Alpine will remain in Formula 1. The new boss confirms the commitment of the sports manufacturer in the Queen discipline, a symbol of technology and global visibility. Knowing that the car responding to the new regulation 2026 is already drawn and that Luca de Meo has greatly reduced the budget by abandoning the construction of the Renault engine to order at Mercedes, it is a common sense decision. But if the stable at the arrow continues to vegetate at the bottom of the grid next season, the cleaver will fall quickly!

Rigor and common sense at Renault

On the philosophy side, again, no brutal change. Renault retains its “value over volume” strategy: produce less, but better, and make sure that each car really reports something. A prudent, but effective approach.

To achieve this, Provost wants to embark on suppliers earlier in the process, just to save time and master costs. Former purchasing director, he knows the importance of good fluidity in the course of the drawing board at the concession. He therefore also renews his confidence in the distribution network, which he considers essential to support the brand over time.

In short, no revolution, always the Renaulution, but a desire to optimize mechanics. François Provost intends to avoid the exit from the road, and what could be better, for that, than to stay in the right trajectory already drawn?
