During the last Google I/O conference, we learned how Gemini Live was going to revolutionize the use of our Android smartphones. In particular, the integration of the AI assistant was announced to several applications of the Google ecosystem, including Maps, Agenda, Notes and Tasks. The idea is to be able to ask questions to Gemini Live, who accesses these apps and uses information to answer you in a relevant and personalized manner.

Google had started the deployment of this feature at the end of June with some handpicked users. But it is now accessible to as many people as possible. We have tested Gemini Live on one of our mobiles, and compatibility with the four apps cited above is present. If it is not yet your case, it is undoubtedly a question of hours or days, Google having started to press the accelerator.

Maps, agenda, notes and tasks land in Gemini Live

Gemini Live is a version of Gemini which supports the voice commands and to whom we can speak continuously, as during a real conversation, without having to press a button or to invoke the assistant to each request. We can also share our screen for him to have access to the context more easily than with a description. And now, he searches in Google Maps, Agenda, Notes/Keep and Tasks to become ever more intelligent.

When you ask it a question that requires access to one of these apps, its logo appears on the screen, surrounded by a loading circle. You therefore know that Gemini Live accesses such a service. If it’s the first time, you may have to Activate the integration between the assistant and Google Workspacea manipulation that is offered to you to carry out directly within Gemini Live.

You can for example ask Gemini Live advice on monuments to visit or suggestions for restaurants. It will be based on your location and Google Maps data to provide an answer. It is also possible to ask him for his planned appointments (agenda), his tasks to be performed (tasks) or to summarize his notes (Keep).
