An Electro on the lake festival to follow from his boat
This Saturday, Léman welcomes on the water geneva festival, a musical event accessible only via a boat.

A floating scene, electro music and revelers in boats: this is the program of On the Water Geneva Festivalwhich will take place this Saturday, August 9 on Lake Geneva. DJs will seize the catamaran FloatInn Boat-BnBa floating hotel, which will be built, for the occasion, 700 meters off the pearl of the lake and nautical. The public is expected from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will have to go there on its own, with a boat, a pedal boat, or even a paddle.
However, the event questions in terms of safety and accessibility. Stéphane Monbaron, boat instructor and organizer of the event, wants to be reassuring.
Over 150 boats expected in Geneva
Although it is difficult for the moment to anticipate the number of boats that will be present on Saturday, the organizers are waiting for more than a hundred boats. They even specify that “all the boats of boats display complete”, and that the police would prepare for more than 150 boats.
“We expect boaters to take their responsibilities and equip themselves accordingly,” explains Stéphane Monbaron. If they come in paddle, for example, they must have a life jacket. We are on the lake, which has risks. But we want to focus on security and music, rather than drink. So we are not going to sell it and we want to show that we can have fun and party just listening to music. ”
Thus, five rescue boats and a police boat will make rounds, helped by security agents and ambassadors of Carrefour addictionS. They will be there to manage the crowds in the event of an incident and help repatriate the boats at the end of the demonstration. “In the event of an overflow, it will end,” says the organizer.
Limited access for safety reasons
What about those who do not have a boat? “I don’t have a magic wand, if there is no more rental boat, it would have been necessary to do it earlier unfortunately. And for security questions, we have put aside the idea of creating a floating dance floor, on which there would have been dozens of people. ”
THE Safety instructions (Anchoring of the boat, vests, etc.) as well as the good attitudes in terms of swimming and waste will be recalled during the event, as well as on the social networks of the association. To see again how the day will take place, especially in terms of flows on the lake. In case of rain, on the water will be postponed to August 16.
