Bottal

Geneva, international city, diplomatic and financial crossroads, still seduced by the beauty of its lake, its heritage and its prestigious history.

However, behind this postcard facade, an observation is essential: the city at the end of the lake seems to have lost part of its attractiveness. Less vibrant, less festive, less attractive, it struggles to offer moments of breathing to its inhabitants as well as its visitors. Our Capitale Romande needs air, especially during the summer.

For several years, the major popular festivals have been rare, leaving the city in a heavy calm. With the exception of a few punctual meetingsGeneva no longer offers these great moments of gathering which once contributed to its vitality and visibility.

A noticeable vacuum

The legendary Geneva festivals, suspended and then abandoned, leave a perceptible emptiness. In the streets as on the quays, the sound of silence reigns … sometimes too much. The music, the concerts, the shows, the rides and the fires once gave a particular rhythm to the city, allowing everyone to live intensely the long summer evenings on our quays. Today, Genevoises and Genevans regret our Geneva festivals and fervent their return with fervor. As a candidate for the Council of State, I propose to resuscitate and re -entertain the Face Festures in Geneva. A flame that will allow our city to find light, as our motto wants so well: After the darkness of light.

Soften the regulations

Geneva is full of musical talents and local artists ready to invest the scenes from our canton. Let’s give them this chance! Varied concerts, accessible to all, could be organized in the parks, and of course on the emblematic quays of our city. In addition, and to revitalize the streets of Geneva, I also propose to soften the rules imposed on restaurateurs concerning the terraces, thus making it possible to strengthen urban animation and conviviality in the streets of Geneva. More open and welcoming terraces would not only help support the local economy, but also offer our residents and visitors more spaces conducive to exchanges and meetings during the summer.

To give life to the Geneva celebrations is to offer our population a lively and joyful summer. Geneva has places, talents and envy. There is only a courageous start to live again ardently.
