After Google Keep, it’s the design of the design of Google Agenda to be revisited with the style “Material 3 expressive”. This update introduces dynamic colors and rounded elements, supposed to improve readability and modernize the interface. The differences between the old version and the new are subtle to say the least…

The main novelty of this overhaul concerns the way in which time slots are displayed. In the “day” and “week” view, the classic lines are replaced by colored blocks with rounded edges. These containers adopt the main shade of the dynamic theme of the device which is supposed to improve reading.

In sight, every day is now visually separated, there too with rounded corners. The abbreviations of the days are also a little longer, to improve readability. The whole gives a more modern appearance, but also a little more heavily visually.

An incomplete update
For the moment, this new design only concerns certain parts of the application. The “Agenda”, “day”, “week” and “month” views are entitled to this makeover, but other elements like the sheet to create an event and the parameters still keep the old design.

The deployment of this update is done on the server side, via the 2025.30.x version of the application. In other words, you may still see no change, even with the latest version installed. It will probably be necessary to wait a few days, even a few weeks, to benefit from it. Do you find this new interface more readable or less readable than the old one? The debate remains open …
