Guilty of sexual assault | An ex-Olympic athlete sentenced to six months in prison

An ex-Olympic ex-athlete who had sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman during her birthday evening has just received six months in prison. Maciej Pryczek, 49, hoped for conditional absolution and had borne the verdict on appeal last winter.


J. Patricia Compagnone sentenced the offender to six months in prison on Monday afternoon in Montreal. She refused the request of the attacker, who wanted not to be registered in the register of sex offenders.

The assault dates back to June 16, 2022. The victim then celebrated his 18 -year -old birthday in a restaurant.

Pryczek, a former speed skater who participated in the Nagano Olympic Games in 1998, has known her for some time. It is therefore present that evening.

The complainant and then go to a common friend to spend the night there. The two women sleep on the sectional couch, while the offender sleeps on a mattress on the ground. The victim is asleep when the man in his forties touches his crotch by lighting him with the light of his cell phone.

Panic, the young woman takes refuge in the bathroom of the residence. She is waiting for her attacker to leave. She then tells her friend, who accompanies her to the police station to file a complaint.

The crown prosecutor, me Marissa Maria Kazadllis, asked between six to nine months in prison. Me Isabelle Larouche, suggested parole for her client. The latter had no judicial history when being found guilty last December.
