“He could not control his anger”: a 62-year-old Briton arrested for trying to drown his daughter-in-law in a swimming pool

He admits having plunged his daughter-in-law’s head into the water, but denies all intention to kill her. Mark Gibbon, a 62-year-old Briton, was arrested in Florida (United States) after an altercation with his 33-year-old daughter-in-law, Jasmine Wyld, against a background of family dispute, reports People.

The facts date back to the beginning of August. Mark Gibson is on vacation with his family on Soltera Resort, in Davenport, near Walt Disney World. While they are in the vacation home pool, an argument breaks out about grandchildren and a will.

According to the Polk County Sheriff department, the man plunged his daughter-in-law underwater on several occasions. Her 9-year-old granddaughter jumped into the water to protect his mother, before being pushed back.

Accused of attempted murder in the second degree

The victim suffers from light injuries, including scratch in the chest. Mark Gibbon admitted to having immersed his daughter-in-law, but however denies having wanted to kill her.

Apensored by attempted murder in the second degree and two other charges for assault and injury, Mark Gibbon is held without the possibility of deposit at the County County Center of Polk.

“It is great that Polk County attracts visitors from all over the world, but we are waiting for vacationers that they behave well when they visit us, just like our long -standing residents,” Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.
